The hugs that hold us together

Following my own advice from last month, to slow down and truly listen, I gave myself that gift this August. Partly by choice, partly because of a flu that kept me home and still for a few days, giving me the time to rest and reflect.
The time to think about all the blessings in my life, to appreciate and feel grateful for everything and everyone present in it.
The month ended with a big party, a real ‘ΓΛΕΝΤΙ’, a true celebration for the christening of Nikolas and Spiros. It brought together childhood friends and filled the air with sun, music, dancing, generous and delicious food, and even more generous beverages ;)
And the joy of being surrounded by people I ‘ve known and loved forever!
September greeted us with tears of happiness, warm wishes and hugs…
Those sincere, tight and genuine hugs, that carry so much emotion, history, love…
The encouraging hugs that turn the sadness of goodbyes into strength, courage and clarity.
The hugs that make us tearful and speechless, grateful and appreciative at the same time…
The hugs that hold us together…
These moments remind me of the power of appreciation and encouragement, two of the core components of Nancy Kline’s Thinking Environment.
They help us feel seen, valued and ready to move forward.
When was the last time you gave or received such a hug, one that filled you with gratitude and courage?
